Aug. 06--Mexico and Jamaica, who met in last month's CONCACAF Gold Cup final, made significant jumps in the latest FIFA world rankings while the U.S., which reached the semifinals of the tournament, moved up a modest five places to No. 29 overall.
Mexico, which won the Gold Cup, jumped 14 spots to 26th in the world although Coach Miguel Herrera didn't get to stick around to enjoy that. He was fired two days after the tournament ended.
Jamaica was one of the biggest movers in the FIFA poll, going from 76th at the start of July to 55 Thursday, its best ranking since 2011.
There were changes in the top 10 as well. Argentina remained No. 1, but Belgium and Germany exchanged places with the World Cup champions falling a spot to third. Colombia remained fourth while Brazil, Portugal, Romania, England, Wales and Chile all moved up a spot to complete the top 10.
The Netherlands, meanwhile, fell further than any team in the top 65, falling seven places to 12th overall.
