FIFA World Cup 2026 today match schedule (19 June): India time, streaming details and more

The FIFA World Cup 2026 group stage continues on June 19 with three important fixtures that could significantly influence the race for the knockout stage. Switzerland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, Qatar, Mexico and South Korea all return to action knowing that another positive result could put them in a strong position to qualify from their respective groups.

Switzerland and Canada will be aiming to turn opening-match draws into victories, while Mexico and South Korea look to build on impressive winning starts. With the group stage beginning to take shape, every point is becoming increasingly valuable.

Switzerland vs Bosnia and Herzegovina

Switzerland head into their second Group B fixture determined to register their first win after a frustrating 1-1 draw against Qatar. Murat Yakin's side dominated large spells of the contest and took the lead through Breel Embolo's penalty, but their inability to convert further chances proved costly as Qatar struck a dramatic late equaliser.

The Swiss know that victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina would put them firmly on course for the Round of 32 before a potentially decisive clash against co-hosts Canada. They will also be chasing their first competitive win over the Balkan nation.

Bosnia and Herzegovina also opened their campaign with a 1-1 draw after letting a first-half lead slip against Canada. Jovo Lukić's opener had Sergej Barbarez's side in control before Cyle Larin rescued a point for the hosts late in the game.

Despite missing out on all three points, Bosnia stretched their unbeaten run to nine matches. Having drawn each of their previous six games in regulation time, they will be confident of causing problems for Switzerland and boosting their qualification hopes.

Canada vs Qatar

Canada return to action seeking a much-improved performance after being held 1-1 by Bosnia and Herzegovina in their opening fixture. Jesse Marsch's side enjoyed plenty of possession but struggled to create enough clear opportunities before salvaging a point through Larin's late equaliser.

The possible return of captain Alphonso Davies from a hamstring injury could provide a significant lift. Canada have conceded first in six of their last seven World Cup matches and will be eager to avoid another slow start. They will also take confidence from their 2-0 victory over Qatar in an international friendly in 2022.

Qatar arrive after producing one of the most dramatic moments of the opening round, scoring deep into stoppage time to snatch a draw against Switzerland. Julen Lopetegui's side absorbed sustained pressure throughout the match but showed remarkable resilience to secure a valuable point.

Although Qatar remain without a victory in their last seven matches, the late equaliser could provide the momentum they need. Canada, meanwhile, know that a win is crucial to keep their qualification destiny firmly in their own hands.

Mexico vs South Korea

Mexico made the perfect start to their FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign with a convincing 2-0 victory over South Africa. Goals from Julián Quiñones and Raúl Jiménez sealed El Tri's first-ever win in a World Cup opening match and extended their unbeaten run to nine games, comprising seven victories and two draws.

Defensively, Mexico have looked equally impressive, recording three clean sheets in their last four outings. However, the suspension of centre-back César Montes means Javier Aguirre will have to reshuffle his backline against South Korea.

The Koreans also arrive full of confidence after producing a spirited comeback to beat the Czech Republic 2-1. Hwang In-beom levelled the contest before setting up Oh Hyeon-gyu's match-winning goal, extending South Korea's winning streak to three matches.

Hong Myung-bo's side have now won six of their previous eight fixtures and will be eager to continue that momentum despite their modest record against Mexico. The two nations last met in September 2025, when Mexico scored in stoppage time to earn a 2-2 draw.
