FIFA to meet with the Premier League to discuss the release of Brazilian players in October

FIFA will meet with the Premier League on Wednesday to discuss the release of Brazilian players for next month’s international break.

English clubs prevented players from Brazil from joining up with their national squad earlier this month due to the UK Government's quarantine rules regarding people travelling to red-list countries.

As a result of this, the Brazilian football federation asked FIFA to impose a five-day ban and in Manchester United 's case, which would have prevented Fred from playing against Newcastle in the Premier League and Young Boys in the Champions League.

The suspension was revoked the morning of the Premier League's return from the international break, Fred was named as a substitute against Newcastle and played the full 90 minutes on Tuesday, and all parties involved are keen to avoid a repeat of the situation next month.

Meanwhile, in the case of Manchester City, the likes of Ederson and Gabriel Jesus could be affected by the talks between the two parties.

According to Caught Offside, via UOL Esporte , Wednesday's meeting will then be followed up by another one on Friday.
