FIFA is to give the FAI almost €1.3 million in fresh Covid-19 relief funding.
World football’s governing body today announced plans to share over €1 billion between its 211 member associations.
This latest tranche is to help national bodies whose projected intake for the year was obliterated because of the pandemic.
€425,000 of the €1.3 million must be ring fenced for women’s football.
The FAI can also apply to FIFA for an additional interest free loan of up to €4.25 million.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino said: “This relief plan is a great example of football’s solidarity and commitment in such unprecedented times.”
