Fifa The Best Awards - LIVE!
The best players in the world are facing off for one of football’s most prestigious honours tonight in the end of year Fifa awards.
Mohamed Salah, Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski are up for the men’s player prize, after making it through a longlist of nominees announced late in 2021.
Bayern Munich’s Lewandowski is the defending champion having claimed the award for 2020, whereas Paris Saint-Germain’s Messi won the recent Ballon d’Or trophy - following his Copa America triumph with Argentina.
Unlike the Ballon d’Or, a quarter of The Best’s votes are cast by the public alongside the world’s international managers, captains and media. There are also plenty of other gongs up for grabs, including the Puskas award, Best Women’s Player, and the coaching award.
