FIFA launch new service to delight Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham fans amid coronavirus break

FIFA have announced that they are releasing a new service which will let football fans watch full match replays of 30 classic games from the World Cup and Women’s World Cup.

The outbreak of coronavirus around the world has not only put a stop to both domestic and international football around the majority of Europe, but has also forced many people to stay in their homes as they undergo a period of self-isolation and social distancing in order to try and curtail the spread of the virus.

“As many are facing isolation as a result of the global COVID-19 pandemic, FIFA has launched a new initiative to help bring football home, namely the release of a video match archive across multiple content channels, until regular football activities are restored across the world,” read a statement on the official website.

The #WorldCupAtHome campaign will start on Saturday 21st March, with games published on FIFA.com, and the FIFA YouTube channel.

There will also be a chance for social engagement with fans being given the opportunity to select their favourite matches to be rebroadcast.

The opening vote gives fans the option to pick one of three matches from the 2014 finals, with the group stage match between Spain and the Netherlands, the quarter final clash of Brazil vs Colombia or the final of Germany vs Argentina.

There is also two options from the Womens’ World Cup in 2019, with either France vs USA in the quarter final or the semi-final of England vs USA.
