For everyone who got triggered when FIFA transitioned into EA FC, we have some good news. FIFA is back — but not in the way you think. In partnership with game development studio Enver, FIFA has announced FIFA Heroes, an arcade five-vs-five football game launching in 2026. The game will be available on all platforms, and we really mean all, including PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, iOS, and Android devices.
Now, when I first heard about FIFA launching an arcade five-a-side football game, my brain immediately went back to FIFA Street. Will the gameplay be like that? I’m not entirely sure, as the reveal trailer doesn’t majorly focus on gameplay. However, it does seem to have a fantasy flair, so let’s take a look at what FIFA Heroes will look like.
FIFA Heroes Revealed
While the reveal trailer doesn’t focus much on the gameplay, we’ve gotten a lot of information from the press release. Christian Volk, FIFA’s director of gaming and Esports said,
“With FIFA Heroes, fans can create a multiverse team: mixing their treasured fictional heroes, favorite players, and our own mascots. We’re offering the love of football to a new generation, while rekindling the nostalgia and fun for families and older players who’ve grown up with FIFA. FIFA Heroes fits seamlessly into our digital football portfolio under the FIFAe umbrella, adding another strong pillar to our fast-growing gaming ecosystem.”
Enver’s founder, Kyle Joyce, added to this by saying,
“With FIFA Heroes, we set out to capture what actually makes football so compelling: speed, drama, and rivalry. Football has a unique way of bringing people together, and this game is our way of putting that love of the sport into play.”
Apart from this, the trailer showcases the new FIFA World Cup 2026’s Mascots, who will be featured in the game as playable characters. Each will have their own superpowers and abilities, but we’re yet to find out what those will actually entail.
Overall, the gameplay seems to be focused on fantasy, dynamic physics, and pitch-shattering power moves, the last one being a sweet reminder of FIFA Street.
