The Shapeshifters Team 1 squad has been released in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team, with some incredible position-changed players and FUT ICONs included.
Goodbye TOTS, hello Shapeshifters! After six weeks of the TOTS promo in FIFA 23, the fan-favourite promo has been replaced in Ultimate Team by Shapeshifters, a promo that awards heavily boosted player items with new position changes and skill upgrades.
In FIFA 22, we saw the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and more big names receive Shapeshifters items with new positions, and Team 1 of the FIFA 23 Shapeshifters features some more big names, including Icons like Pele and Robin van Persie. The Shapeshifters Team 1 squad is available in FIFA 23 now until Friday, June 23 at 5.59pm BST / 12.59pm EDT / 9.59am PDT.

The Shapeshifters Team 1 squad might be one of the best we've ever had, with a 99 Pele leading the squad as a left-winger alongside six other Shapeshifter Icons. Virgil van Dijk is the highest-rated regular Shapeshifters item at 98 overall, whilst Toko Ekambi and Sheraldo Becker are the only two players who are 'Premium Shapeshifters'.
FIFA 23 Premium Shapeshifters chemistry explained
EA has confirmed that some Shapeshifters items, called Premium Shapeshifters will have different ways of getting chemistry than other Shapeshifters items, but it's left some players slightly confused. This is how it works.
Regular Shapeshifters items will earn chemistry the same as any normal player in FUT, and you can tell these apart from the Premium Shapeshifters by the little crown logo on the top of the card. Any Shapeshifters item that has the mini crown design on the card is a Premium Shapeshifters item and will get full chemistry automatically, as long as they are played in the correct position.
They will also give an extra +1 for league chemistry to other players, meaning the chemistry system on Premium Shapeshifters works the same as FUT Hero items. It's unclear whether all Shapeshifters items will be released with both of these versions or if only certain Shapeshifters will be Premium versions.
