Some FIFA 22 Ultimate Team players are receiving a free tradeable Base Icon item after EA's SBC mistake.
EA Sports released an untradeable Base Icon Squad Building Challenge (SBC) ahead of FIFA 22 FUT Season 2, which players could complete and receive a Base Icon player item as a reward. But, some players who completed the SBC received a Mid-Icon player item instead.
This is not the first mistake made by EA Sports in FIFA 22 following the launch of FUT Season 2 this morning, with players reporting that their FUT Champions qualification points have not carried over from FUT Season 1 to FUT Season 2 and that Division Rivals rewards are bugged showing TOTW 1, TOTW 2 and TOTW 3 player picks instead of the current TOTW, TOTW 8.
EA Sports have since responded to the Base Icon SBC error and are reportedly compensating impacted accounts by rewarding players with a free tradeable Base Icon item!
Players who were impacted will receive a notice message from EA when loading into FIFA 22 Ultimate Team and will find their free tradeable Base Icon pack waiting in the store section.
The error has led to outrage from those FIFA 22 Ultimate Team who weren't impacted as they feel it is unfair that players who received a Mid Icon item are now receiving a free tradeable Base Icon item as compensation.
EA could be handing out more compensation packs in the coming days if a large pool of players have been impacted.

The FIFA 22 FUT Season 2 began today (November 11) at 08:00 GMT, with EA confirming that players will be automatically relegated in FUT 22 Division Rivals, but this can change depending on which division you are in when Season 2 begins.
The FIFA 22 Division Rivals Milestone rewards are also being increased for FUT Season 2 in Division Rivals for all divisions, with players also needing 2,000 FUT Champions points to qualify for the FUT Champions Play-Offs rather than the 1,500 in FUT Season 1.
FIFA 22 is the latest game within EA's popular FIFA video game franchise, which was released worldwide on Friday, October 1, 2021. The game is available now on all platforms including Xbox One, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Stadia and PC.
