FIFA 22 May Prime Gaming pack 8 delay explained as release date remains unconfirmed

The release date for the FIFA 22 May Prime Gaming Pack (Pack 8) remains unknown, with the free pack still not available to claim.

In partnership with EA Sports, Amazon's Prime Gaming brand provides Prime subscribers with one free pack per month in FIFA 22. The rewards for May would’ve been the eighth free set of rewards released by Prime Gaming in FIFA 22, with their collaboration with EA having been ever-present since 2019.

The May instalment (Pack 8) was originally expected to become available in the week commencing May 23, 2022, and after a week of no free rewards and no communication from either EA or Prime Gaming, FIFA 22 players were left confused. But, Prime Gaming finally issued a statement on the delay on June 2, 2022, but with little detail as to what’s causing the delay.

In a Tweet released at 7:39 PM BST on June 2, 2022, Prime Gaming tweeted the following statement: “To all FIFA 22 players, unfortunately the May Prime Gaming Pack has been delayed while the team investigates an issue. We’re working on it, and will keep you updated.”

The vague tweet left FIFA 22 fans frustrated, with no context as to what has caused the delay. As of June 6, 2022, the pack has still yet to be released, with no more updates having been released by either EA Sports or Prime Gaming. The FIFA 22 May Prime Gaming pack (Pack 8) release date is still unknown, but according to prominent FIFA 22 leaker @FutArcade, it will contain the following rewards:

  • 7 x Gold Rare Players
  • 2 x 81+ OVR Player Picks
  • 12 x Rare Consumables
  • 1 x Prime Icon Player Loan (5 Matches)
  • Interestingly, EA has decreased how good the free rewards are, with the two player picks decreasing from 82+ to 81+. With the FIFA 22 May Prime rewards now available, it's a simple process to redeem your free pack, if you're an Amazon Prime subscriber.

    1. Sign in Prime Gaming to link your Amazon Prime account to your EA Account
    2. Head over to the Prime Gaming page and click the 'Claim Now' button.
    3. Load up FIFA 22 and your rewards should appear in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team, ready to redeem!

FIFA 22 is the latest game within EA's popular FIFA video game franchise, which was released worldwide on Friday, October 1, 2021. The game is available now on all platforms including Xbox One, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Stadia and PC.
