The grip that EA Sports has on the world of football continues to get tighter as the publisher/developer continues to add exclusive partnerships and tech to upgrade the FIFA franchise.

Ahead of the upcoming release of FIFA 22, EA announced a new exclusive partnership with Serie A. This partnership gives EA exclusive license to 14 clubs which further entrenches the FIFA series in the fabric of Italian football.

In conjunction with the new partnership, EA has also been named Title Sponsor and partner for Supercoppa Italiana. The event will be renamed the EA Sports Supercup starting next season.

Lastly, this partnership includes the new eSports competition eSerie A TIM, which will be played on FIFA.

“This is the beginning of an exciting new partnership with Lega Serie A that allows EA SPORTS to continue to grow the love of football globally,” said David Jackson, VP of Brand for EA SPORTS FIFA. “This collaboration with Lega Serie A further highlights our commitment to Italian Football. We are ambitious for Italy now and in the future and will grow our presence there with the goal of delivering the most authentic and unparalleled gaming experiences in football.”

One of the biggest strengths of the FIFA brand is its exclusive licenses. With Serie A now a part of the group, FIFA now features more than 17,000 players, 700+ clubs from 30+ leagues and 100 real-life stadiums.

FIFA 22 releases on October 1 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One X, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
