The end of the decade is fast approaching and that means award ceremonies will begin coming thick and fast for 2019 - and Fifa 20 is no different after EA Sports announced its shortlist for the Team of the Year.
EA Sports have revealed the 55 nominees shortlisted for the final team, which will be assembled by 11 players with the most votes, based on their real-life performance in football in the calendar year.
Needless to say, Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi is among the names included along with Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk and Juventus' Cristiano Ronaldo.
Man City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne and Chelsea's tireless midfielder N'Golo Kante are on the list once again after making the final starting XI in 2018.
Fifa 20 players can cast their vote online from Thursday, December 12 before the deadline on December 20, with the official Team of the Year announced in January.
Those who are nominated will be created as special TOTY player items to be released in Fifa 20 Ultimate Team (FUT) packs for a limited time, which will include boosted attributes.
