Anthony Joshua has teamed up with EA Sports to design an east London five-a-side pitch in anticipation of the new Volta Football mode on FIFA 20.
The latest instalment of the hugely popular video game lands this Thursday in the UK, with fans of the game getting particularly excited about the new Volta mode -- a reboot of the cult title FIFA Street which first launched over a decade ago.
The new mode celebrates all things street football and dethroned unified heavyweight champion Joshua has made his mark on a mew all-weather pitch in the capital to celebrate the launch.
The boxer said: “I grew up playing a lot of street football. I’d play at least eight hours with my friends every Sunday and it fostered a real sense of community.
"With pitches and youth clubs closing daily, the opportunity for kids and even adults to come together is becoming restricted so I’m delighted to partner with EA Sports to celebrate small sided football and make it more accessible to Londoners. Hopefully they like my design!”
To mark the opening of Joshua's pitch, EA Sports has donated 250 hours of free playing time to the community to inspire players to get back on the pitch.
