Fiery This Morning clash sparks outrage as guest accused of ‘Neo-Nazi nonsense'

This Morning erupted into chaos on Friday's show as Beverley Turner and Matthew Wright went head to head in a fiery row over vaccine passports.

Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary fought to keep the peace as Beverley claimed we should stop the vaccine now that the elderly and vulnerable were vaccinated, and work towards "herd immunity".

Matthew pointed out "herd immunity" only works if you vaccinate the entire population but would leave the weak and infirm to die, comparing her views to that of the Nazis.

Beverley said: "I don't care whether we get any more vaccines from Europe, because we don't need it, we have done a superb job of vaccinating all those people who are high risk, we don't need it to vaccinate children.

"It's an experimental vaccine and it's risk versus benefit, please look it up, get some facts, do not just listen to the propaganda."

Matthew replied: "The biggest problem facing the world is virus mutation, the people who are vaccinated are broadly protected but within the non-vaccinated community the virus can mutate.

"If the virus mutates into a form that can the vaccine no longer functions, we are right back to the start."

Beverley demanded: "Into what, something that's going to kill young people?"

Matthew continued: "Beverley is talking paranoid conspiracy nonsense, quite frankly, with a complete lack of science.

"The idea you are still talking about herd immunity, which does not exist without vaccinations. You are talking about, essentially, Neo-Nazi ideas, letting the weak die, only the strong will survive, it's an absolute outrage."

Beverley shot back: "The fact that you're comparing it to Nazis when we are being told we have to show our papers before going to a restaurant, Matthew, is outrageous."

"Guys, listen, we will carry this on in the studio, or the boxing ring, when we see you next," Dermot cut in.

"Get back here Hammond!" he joked, as Alison pretended to back out of the studio in terror.

Many viewers were outraged over Beverley's comments, with one tweeting: " #ThisMorning embarrassing that you let Beverley sit there and spout lies. She's has no idea what's she's talking about. Put her on air with a dr or virologist next time let her tell those people they are wrong."

Another complained: " @ thismorning all media should stop Beverleys anti-VAX poison if a doctor can get struck off the British medical Association from practising medicine for discrediting the MMR #vaccine then the media should seriously look at stopping her Spitting her poison out #Danger #ThisMorning ".

"Na who is this Bev woman and why is she on #ThisMorning debating vaccine passports and saying it will lead to microchips ffs. @thismorning stop giving people like this a platform!!!!" ranted a third.

But others agreed with Beverley, as one wrote: " @beverleyturner rattled some lefties this morning haha they’ve all gone into melt down! #ThisMorning."

Chief medical officer Chris Whitty says: “The overwhelming professional view of doctors around the world, and other health professionals, is these vaccines are highly effective against a dangerous infection that is common, and they are safe – very safe – relative to the risk of the infection.”
