Fierce Liverpool and Man Utd rivals have joined forces to help hunger charity

They might be fierce football rivals from opposite ends of the East Lancs Road - but James Milner and Marcus Rashford have joined forces to help the UK's biggest hunger and food waste charity.

And the Liverpool vice-captain and Manchester United striker have been joined by a Nottingham Forest and England hero, an Arsenal legend and a Champions League and PFA Player of the Year winner.

Milner, Rashford, Stuart Pearce, Kelly Smith and Everton midfielder Izzy Christiansen have all donated signed shirts to FareShare which are being auctioned on eBay .

Rashford is an ambassador for the FareShare charity, which diverts surplus food which would otherwise go to waste to people at risk of hunger.

FareShare provides food to 11,000 charities and community groups in all four nations across the UK – including school breakfast clubs, community centres, homeless shelters and food banks. The charity provides the equivalent of two million meals a week, or four meals every second, for people who might not otherwise eat.

Milner has supplied a signed Liverpool shirt, Rashford a signed England shirt, Stuart Pearce a Nottingham Forest jersey signed by himself, Kelly Smith a signed England and Arsenal shirt and Izzy Christiansen a signed Everton and England shirt.

In addition to bidding for the shirts, people can donate directly via www.fareshare.org.uk
