
Summer blooms cover fields in colorful patchwork-like patterns at Shikisai-no-oka in Biei, Hokkaido. Flowers have grown slowly at the popular tourist spot this year because of lower-than-usual temperatures in July, according to a Shikisai-no-oka official. About 40 kinds of flowers will continue to bloom at the 14-hectare garden until around October.
