Field Day festival will move into London's biggest music warehouse in 2019

London’s largest music warehouse will be the new home of Field Day from 2019, the Standard can exclusively reveal.

The festival, which last year took place in Brockwell Park after a decade in Victoria Park, will move north to Enfield next year on June 7-8.

There will be a 10-acre outdoor space at the festival, as well as four interlinked warehouses — converted from an old gasworks next to Tottenham Marshes — one of which will be able to pack in 7,500 revellers, making it the largest of its type in the capital. By comparison, Printworks, the south London megaclub, can hold 4,000.

The new location will allow Field Day to go on later into the night than any other London festival, organisers claim. An exact curfew is yet to be confirmed, although most outdoor festivals in the capital have been forced to close at around 11pm by strict licensing laws.

Luke Huxham, Field Day’s festival director, said: “2019 will mark the start of a new chapter for Field Day and a completely new type of festival for London.

“This new site will allow us to break down the restrictions that London festivals are normally faced with and deliver an unrivalled experience.”

The festival site will be a short walk from the new Meridian Water station, which is set to open in May 2019 as part of a multi-billion pound regeneration of the area. It will also be within walking distance of Tottenham Hale station on the Victoria line.

Field Day’s 2019 line-up will be announced soon. Last year’s festival featured Erykah Badu, AJ Tracey and Daniel Avery.
