Field Day 2019: Skepta and Jorja Smith to headline London music festival

Field Day has announced its headliners for the festival taking place this year on 7 and 8 June.

The music event, which has moved to a new home in north London, will see international grime artist Skepta take to the main stage on the Saturday, and Brit award-nominee Jorja Smith top the bill on Friday evening.

Smith's critically acclaimed debut album Lost & Found has earned her nominations for Best Album, British Breakthrough Act and British Female Solo Artist at this year's Brit Awards, as well as a Grammy nod for Best New Artist.

Along with the two headline announcements, Field Day has revealed an additional 38 artists who will perform across the weekend, including Pusha T, Jungle, Earl Sweatshirt, Deerhunter, Julia Holter, and BBC Sound of 2019 winner Octavian.

Co-founder Tom Baker said: "This really is a new and exciting chapter for Field Day. Our new home is arguably one of the most dynamic sites in the country, with a lineup that is typically eclectic and diverse as ever before. I'm thrilled about the return of Skepta who back in 2016 played to one of the biggest crowds we've ever had at Field Day.

"Saturday's headliner, the brilliant Jorja Smith, will be truly sensational. Diplo's sets are just absolute dance-frenzied, seamless brilliance, alongside rising artists Pip Blom, MorMor, Boy Azooga and the return of Deerhunter with an excellent new album... Working with purpose-built indoor venues with generous sound levels and early morning curfews is what London truly deserves."
