Fiat Chrysler, PSA Group reveal Stellantis logo

One big question after Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Peugeot-maker PSA Group announced they intended to call their planned new company, Stellantis, was what would the logo look like.

Now we know.

The companies jointly released an image of the logo Monday.

Here's what they had to say about it:

"The logo symbolises the rich heritage of Stellantis' founding companies and the unique combined strengths of the new group's portfolio of 14 storied automotive brands, as well as the diversity of professional backgrounds of its employees working in all the regions. Along with the Stellantis name — whose Latin root 'stello' means 'to brighten with stars' — it is the visual representation of the spirit of optimism, energy and renewal of a diverse and innovative company determined to be one of the new leaders in the next era of sustainable mobility," according to a news release.

The two sample logos the companies provided show lettering with the new company name on either a blue or white background and a circle of dots, presumably to represent stars, behind part of the logo.

The merger is expected to be complete next year.
