Feyenoord confirm Cenk Tosun stance after Everton transfer rumours

Feyenoord manager Dick Advocaat has ruled out a January loan move for Everton forward Cenk Tosun.

Reports this month claimed Tosun was the 'primary target' for Feyenoord and former Sunderland manager Advocaat.

The 29-year-old is yet to start a Premier League game for Everton under Carlo Ancelotti and was allowed to join Crystal Palace on loan last January before suffering a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury.

He has since been involved from the bench but his long-term future remains unclear.

When asked about a potential raid for Tosun, Advocaat reportedly told FC Update (t ranslated by Sport Witness ): “That is an excellent name, but not for Feyenoord.

“We really can’t afford him. Those are guys who earn seven, eight, nine million gross. We can’t think of that.”

Tosun signed for Everton from Besiktas in a £27m deal in January 2018.
