Few NFL pickers believe the Lions will beat the Chargers

A tie in Week 1 with the lowly-regarded Arizona Cardinals did not inspire much national confidence in the Detroit Lions. The vast majority of NFL game pickers are rolling with the Lions in their home opener on Sunday.

According to NFL Pickwatch, just 19 percent of over 100 notable game prognosticators chose the Lions to beat the Chargers in Ford Field in Week 2. Only four other games on the slate have a more lopsided forecast, with one of those being New England at Miami. Note that these picks are just straight-up and not involving the point spread.

There is a silver lining. Almost everyone forecasted a Panthers win over the Buccaneers on Thursday night. A full 99% of the NFL Pickwatch group had the Panthers cruising at home. Tampa Bay won, 20-14.
