'Few hints' - Rowles to inform Hearts team-mates of Hibs boss Montgomery's tactics

Kye Rowles has revealed he will share an insight into Hibernian boss Nick Montgomery's tactics with his team-mates ahead of the Edinburgh derby next month.

Hearts defender Rowles, 25, played under Montgomery at Central Coast Mariners so has a unique working knowledge of the Hibs coach.

Montgomery - who signed a three-year deal at Hibernian - will have had just four matches in charge of the club before he faces Hearts at Tynecastle next month.

He started with a 2-2 draw with Kilmarnock and will lead the club against St Johnstone, St Mirren and Dundee before the derby on October 7.

It means Hearts analysts will have time to scout the opposition under the new manager, however, more important could be Rowles' inside knowledge of the manager.

As quoted in Football Scotland, Rowles said of Montgomery: "It will be good to see an old face. I might give him a wave or something, but there won't be any pleasantries before the game or during it. Hopefully we can get the job done.

"We're taking it one game at a time at the moment. I won't worry about it now, but definitely in the week of the game I'll throw a few hints out there."

On Rowles' performance in the 2-0 win over Aberdeen, Steven Naismith said: "I challenged him before the game because I think in recent weeks he has found it tough at moments. I think it has been small moments in games but because of where he plays it gets magnified.

"He showed today that he is mentally tough to put in the performance that he did. I thought he was really good. But overall our composure at the end of the game, not getting carried away or lacking discipline, showed because Aberdeen never really had a threat."
