Festive stimulus plan set to widen

The Finance Ministry is considering extending its Shop Chuay Chart tax break measure to cover non-taxpayers who make electronic payments.

Previously only taxpaying shoppers benefited during the festive consumer initiative, but this year Finance Minister Apisak Tantivorawong wants the scheme "open to all as there are only 3 million taxpayers", a ministry source said yesterday, adding it will go before the cabinet by Dec 4.
