Festive fundraising goes ahead at Castle Douglas High School despite coronavirus restriction

Fundraising efforts for the support for learning department at Castle Douglas High School went ahead despite the coronavirus pandemic.

Two big raffles and a Christmas jumper day were among the events that replaced the regular Christmas Fayre – organised by the enterprise group – which was unable to go ahead due to the pandemic.

The funds raised are used to help the young people within the department with life learning skills, communication and building relationships with the local community.

Everyone had lots of fun and thanks go to the local community, friends, staff and pupils for their support during what would normally be the Christmas fayre week.

The final total is still to be revealed but the young people are overwhelmed with everyone’s support and generosity.
