
From now until early January, anyone can enjoy Christmas celebrations at various shopping malls in Bangkok, such as CentralWorld, Central Embassy and Central Chidlom department stores in Pathumwan.
From Nov 21 to Jan 7, the Light Up Christmas Tree Celebration takes place at CentralWorld. Highlights are more than 400 Christmas decorations, cartoon characters and art pieces, including 5m-tall sculptures of Santa Claus and friends, created by famous Argentinian artist Javier González Burgos under the theme of "The Dazzling Celebration".
The mall is also decorated under the theme of "Parade Of Angels" amid illuminated Christmas trees. Its CentralWorld Gift Yard & Music Celebration shows Christmas trees from Canada, the World of Fashion Zone, Sweet & Dessert Zone, the Christmas Carol performance, the Nutcracker Ballet Dance, the Thailand Smile Jazz Festival, Christmas Music Celebration and a food fair. At the nearby Central Embassy and Central Chidlom, there will be the lighting installation of over 1 million LED lights and a 10m Santa Claus at the Santa Play Land, with slides and a sea of balls until Jan 14. Shoppers will see a 7-storey Christmas tree at Morakot Car Park, lighting decorations, a Snow Maker and the Parade of Happiness, and enjoy the Christmas Carol and Christmas Market.

Car rally for a king
From Saturday until Sunday, the TAT's Ayutthaya Office will host the "Car Caravan To Follow In King Rama IX's Footsteps" on the Ayutthaya-Saraburi route under the theme of "Thai Way Of Travel, Lao Wiang Way Of Life, Visits To Ayutthaya And Saraburi".
Participants will visit Wat Tako in Ayutthaya, the Dairy Farming Promotion Organisation of Thailand's dairy farm initiated by King Rama IX, Chet Sao Noi Waterfall, King Rama IX's New Theory-inspired project at Wat Mongkol Chaipattana, Ban Rai Coffee Museum and Siriwat Vinyard in Saraburi, and stay overnight at the Sir James Lodge Hotel.
Participants must drive or ride their own vehicles. Registration fee is 790 baht per person.

Christmas in Singapore
From tomorrow until Dec 26, the Christmas Wonderland will return to Gardens by the Bay, Singapore, from 4-11pm daily with bigger illuminating experiences. Visitors will be wowed by Southeast Asia's tallest Italian Luminaire light sculpture, the festival atmosphere with Santa's Grotto and the Asian debut of the famous Circus Abyssinia from Ethiopia. There will also be a food fair.
Admission fees start at S$4 (100 baht). Each paying adult can bring up to three children shorter than 90cm free of charge. Children who are taller than 90cm needs tickets.

Light shows in Hong Kong
From tomorrow until year's end, a new version of the multimedia light show, A Symphony of Lights, will brighten the sky over Hong Kong's Victoria Harbour for 10 minutes starting at 8pm nightly.
Each show consists of lighting effects, coloured searchlights, and laser and beam lights sent out in rhythm from more than 40 buildings on both sides of the harbour with a new musical score played by the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.
Live streaming will be available for online and via social media, with a satellite signal to broadcasters at the premiere show tomorrow.
