Families had a fantastic time at the first festive weekend in Paisley town centre.
Paisley First, together with Renfrewshire Council, has organised Paisley’s Big Christmas Weekends, with family entertainment including stilt walkers, magicians, jugglers, balloon modellers, face painting, music and plenty more for the three weekends before Christmas.
Last weekend was the first one and it proved popular with families. The roller rink in County Square was a popular attraction while families queued up to have a photo taken with some reindeer visiting the town. There was also a Christmas market on the High Street which was popular with shoppers.
The reindeer will be in town again this Saturday, December 11 while the roller rink will be in place until Sunday, December 19. A pop-up panto at Coats Venue on December 18 has already sold out.
Christmas markets are on every weekend and the Paisley First family trail is running throughout the month for kids to find all the Christmas characters dotted around the town centre.
Chair of Paisley First, Colette Cardosi, said: “We are thrilled that the local community came out in great numbers to support the first of our Paisley’s Big Christmas Weekends.
“The response was amazing and it was great to see everyone getting into the festive spirit.
“We are looking forward to welcoming everyone for even more fun this weekend, including the return of the reindeer on Saturday as well as our festive entertainers.
“There’s still time to book our festive roller rink, not to mention our Christmas Market which is open 10am till 4pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday this weekend and next weekend too.
“Paisley is most definitely the place to be this Christmas!”
