Festive food made at Nottingham bakery to feature on BBC's Inside The Factory this week

Party food made in Nottingham will feature in the next episode of BBC Two's Inside The Factory.

The Addo Food Group makes sausage rolls, pork pies, hot pies and pasties but quiches made for Marks & Spencer will be the star of the show when Gregg Wallace’s popular factory tour programme follows production at the Riverside site.

The TV show - which is now in its fifth series – showcases a different product each week. The programme documents the full manufacturing process, starting with the raw ingredients and displaying the product development before arriving at the retailer.

The Nottingham episode will be screened on Thursday, December 12, at 9pm.

Deborah Bolton, CEO of Addo Food Group said: “Myself and the whole Addo Food Group team are very excited. We were absolutely delighted to have been approached by such a popular prime-time show and to host Gregg and the crew at our Riverside premises.”

Addo Food Group produces a wide range of products for a selection of major UK retailers and the Wall’s Pastry and Pork Farms brands.

Around 450 of the group's 2,500 employees are based at the Riverside bakery - the group's second Notts location.

Riverside bakery also has a specialist manufacturing facility and development team, focused on driving product innovation and quality.

Deborah added: “We have six bakery sites across the country but Riverside bakery in Nottingham is one of our busiest - with 42m quiches being baked on-site each year.

"As the UK’s largest chilled quiche manufacturer, the festive period is the most demanding time of year for us – with our hard-working team producing 4.5m quiches every December. The business's appearance on Inside The Factory has created a buzz within the team and I have no doubt will be watched by all this Thursday.”

This week’s episode also features two other Midlands-based businesses. Derbyshire-based haulage company NFT Distribution and West Midlands-based egg supplier, Bumblehole Foods, both appear as part of Addo Food Group’s supply chain.
