Festive cookie workshop proved a real treat in Bothwell

There was festive cheer galore in Bothwell as children flocked to a Christmas cookie workshop.

Dozens of youngsters have attended the fun-filled event at the town’s Hidden Teahouse, just behind the Main Street.

The cafe laid on the festive treat over three weekends, which consisted of children taking part in some Christmas colouring-in and indulging in treats such as warm waffles, scones, pancakes, chocolate spread, fruit and syrup followed by a hot chocolate with all the trimmings and then finally finishing off their day decorating Christmas cookies.

Owner of the cafe, Claire McCaffrey, said: “We just thought it would make a nice little change for the children and indeed their parents/carers or families to come along and sit and relax and enjoy a couple of hours of festive fun.

“It has been very well received and we would like to thank everyone who popped in and took part.”

Niamh Smyth, of Bothwell, who attended the event said: “I really enjoyed our festive treats and cookie decorating at the Hidden Teahouse in Bothwell.

“They catered for all ages too which was nice.”
