Festival Village damaged after fire breaks out at Candleriggs beer garden

A Glasgow beer garden has been damaged after a fire broke out on site.

Firefighters were called to Festival Village at Candleriggs Square around 9pm on Thursday after a blaze broke out in a garden shed.

Pictures from the scene show the fire taking hold close to the Commonwealth Games badminton mural on Wilson Street.

Organisers say the fire caused 'minimal damage' and the cause of the fire is currently unknown.

Luckily no one was injured in the incident.

A spokesperson for Festival Village said: "The fire caused minimal damage and was dealt with quickly by fire services. The authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire."
