The organisers of a popular local music festival say they are devastated it’s having to be cancelled.
Sing on the Bing Pumpherston Music Festival was due to take place on Saturday, May 27 but not enough tickets have been sold.
The organisers said they are “extremely disappointed” to make the decision.
They said: “Lots of hard work goes into running an event from across all sections, the organisers, the bands, the ticket hubs and suppliers have poured hours into what would have been an awesome day.
“We have cancelled because people are not buying tickets and/or leaving it to the last minute. We cannot run the risk of not having enough sales but still needing to pay the exorbitant costs of running the event.
“Lots of festivals and live events up and down the country are struggling as people make very difficult decisions on what they are going to do with their money, due to rising costs and the strain on their disposable income.
“We wholeheartedly apologies for any inconvenience caused but be assured you will be refunded for your tickets. Online sales via Skiddle will be automatically refunded, if you have purchased a ticket via one of our official outlets then please speak to them directly about a refund - it will be a strict no ticket, no refund policy. You must return your ticket for a refund.
“To all our amazing bands, charity partners, suppliers and stakeholders we can only thank you for all your amazing support.
“We are all volunteers. We didn’t cause the current economic crisis.”
