Festival of the River Belfast events to bring week of fun for families

The first Festival of the River is happening in Belfast this August.

The community festival will run from August 4-11 and has been organised by community groups from the south and east of the city with support from Belfast City Council .

The inaugural Féile na hAbhann / Festival of the River aims to animate the Lagan Walkway and River in a day of festivities designed for maximum family enjoyment with a promise of something for everyone.  

The main event will take place on Sunday, August 4, between 1pm and 4.30pm along the Lagan River and Walkway section between the Albert Bridge and Ormeau Bridge.  Everyone is welcome.

Féile na hAbhann / Festival of the River will continue with a week full of community activities from drama in the Waterfront Hall, sport, play activities and much more.
