‘Festival of Football’ is heading to Escape To Freight Island for the World Cup

A ‘festival of football’ will be heading to Escape To Freight Island ready for the start of the World Cup. The outdoor and indoor spaces of the sprawling beer garden and food hall will be transformed with a special ‘pub zone’ and a huge space to watch the matches.

The festivities will start on Monday November 21, the day of the first England match against Iran, which will kick off at 1pm UK time, until the final on December 18. The matches will be shown in the Platform room on a huge screen, with the ‘pub zone’ setting up in the tap room.

Meanwhile, the Plant Room will be transformed into a family and child-friendly zone, which is covered and heated. The England matches will all be shown on the big screen in the Platform room, while all other matches will be screened in the pub zone.

In addition to the match screenings, there will also be special food and drink offers and events, half-time entertainment, including walkabout musicians and live brass bands, bookable tables with ‘free-flow pints’ from Camden Town Brewery, pub quizzes and 'guest appearances'.

There will even be pop-up shops on site selling vintage shirts, as well as interactive games. And best of all, all screenings will be free.

To book tickets, head to the Escape To Freight Island website.
