Ferry Road Drive taped off after man's body found in back of parked camper van

A man's body has been found in the back of a camper van parked just off Edinburgh's busy Ferry Road.

Police on Tuesday cordoned off part of Ferry Road Drive after the discovery was made at around 4pm.

Officers say the death is being treated as "unexplained" but police enquiries are ongoing as they bid to establish the full circumstances.

According to a report in the Daily Record, police could be seen standing guard on the street early on Tuesday evening while the investigation continues.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of a man's body being found around 4pm on Tuesday 24 March, in a camper van in Ferry Road Drive.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and it is currently being treated as unexplained."
