Ferrari Is Finally Replacing the Roma. Here's What It Could Be Called

Ferrari said it would reveal six cars this year, and one of those arrives later today. We expect the new model to replace the Roma, which debuted in late 2019, and the latest teaser provides the best hint yet at the car's new name. It'll likely be called the Amalfi.

The short clip Ferrari posted today, advertising the car's arrival later today, showcases the gorgeous Amalfi Coast in southern Italy. Although this isn't a confirmation, references to Amalfi extend beyond the location in just one video. Ferrari trademarked the names Amalfi and Amalfi Spider in various countries, including Canada and Iceland, last year.

Thankfully, we won't have to wait long to find out what Ferrari will reveal. The teaser says the debut will happen at 10:40 PM CEST, or 4:40 PM ET, today. We don't know what exactly it'll be, or if it's even a Roma successor at all. But considering Ferrari's entry-level convertibles have all been named after beautiful locations (California, Portofino, Roma), it makes sense.

If it is, we would bet it'd continue to use the Roma's twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V-8 engine, but with improvements over the Roma's 612 horsepower and 591 pound-feet of torque. The Roma Spider isn't as old as the coupe, debuting in 2023, so we might have to wait for the arrival of the Amalfi Spider. But we'll have to see how Ferrari handles the launch, which we'll know more about soon enough.
