Ferran Torres starts as Man City fans demand seven changes to line-up vs Brighton

Manchester City fans want to see seven changes for their match against Brighton & Hove Albion and there's no place for fitness doubt Kevin De Bruyne.

Pep Guardiola made wholesale changes for City's 4-3 win against Newcastle United on Friday night, offering game time to some fringe players.

Ferran Torres grabbed the headlines with his first City hat-trick and, unsurprisingly, he retains his place up front.

City fans would like to see the bulk of their first-choice squad return against the Seagulls, with seven changes in total from the win at St James' Park.

That starts in goal with Ederson replacing Scott Carson between the sticks, after his rare Premier League outing, whilst Ruben Dias and John Stones return at the heart of the defence for Eric Garcia and Nathan Ake.

Joao Cancelo shifts to right-back, with Oleksandr Zinchenko in for Kyle Walker to complete a much-changed defence.

In midfield, Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva keep their places, with Fernandinho replacing Rodri as the holding midfielder.

That means there is no spot for De Bruyne, who City fans want wrapping in cotton wool ahead of the Champions League final.

In attack, Torres leads the line, flanked by Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden, with both wide men returning to the starting XI in place of Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling.

City beat Brighton 1-0 in when the two sides met at the Etihad in January, though the Seagulls will be boosted by the return of home fans for Tuesday night's match.

OUT: Carson, Ake, Garcia, Walker, Rodri, Sterling, Jesus
