Ferran Torres scores again as Manchester City beat Olympiacos

Ferran Torres made it three goals in as many Champions League games for Manchester City as Olympiacos were beaten on Tuesday night.

With Sergio Aguero sidelined and Gabriel Jesus only fit enough for the bench, Torres did start as a lone striker and put City into a deserved lead within 12 minutes. Jesus came off the bench to settle the match with less than 10 minutes to play before Joao Cancelo’s injury-time strike.

The hosts went straight onto the front foot and had already threatened through Foden, Riyad Mahrez and Kevin De Bruyne when they went ahead.

The goal came as Torres played a good one-two with De Bruyne and then calmly side-footed past Jose Sa.

City slackened off after the break and had a couple of let-offs.

Mady Camara fluffed a chance when presented with a free header at a corner and then Foden carelessly passed across his own area straight to Mathieu Valbuena. Fortunately for the City youngster, the Frenchman blasted wide.

Not the most convincing display from City but it’s three wins from three to open up a gap at the top of Group C.
