Ferran Torres has explained how he was left in awe after his first training session with Manchester City due to the quality on display from his teammates.
City's new number 21 could make his Premier League debut for Pep Guardiola's side when they face Wolves on Monday.
Torres is one of two fresh faces to arrive at the Etihad Stadium this summer with Nathan Ake also brought in to bolster City's defence.
With Spanish compatriot, David Silva departing and Torres taking his famous shirt number, there are high expectation for the 20-year-old who has already made his full national team debut.
Leroy Sane's departure to Bayern Munich, the ex-Valencia winger is confident he can step into the breach.
"I am very happy to be here and for the season to have started, and above all I just can't wait for Monday, to be able to play my first game in the Premier League," he told Sky Sports.
"I am an ambitious player and I know I am capable of becoming a starter. I am going to work hard to achieve it."
However, Torres is under no illusion of the difficulty in becoming a regular in Manchester City's star-studded team.
The Spaniard revealed how he was left in shock by the calibre of teammate he faced during his first day in training with his new employers.
"Before I came here, I knew that there were a lot of players of a very high level," he said.
"But in the first training session, I saw that, wow, there is a lot of quality. I hope to be at that level soon."
He singles Kevin De Bruyne: "He is a magnificent player, world-class."
