Ferne McCann says she can 'relax' after tearful TV apology over leaked voice notes

Ferne McCann has said she can finally "relax" after appearing on TV and issuing a grovelling apology for a series of leaked voice notes on This Morning.

The Towie star appeared on the morning show with hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield where they opened up about the voice notes in which Ferne supposedly made a series of comments about her former best pals Sam and Billie, allegedly calling Sam a "fat c***".

Ferne apologised for what she said and said she will be revealing the "full truth" soon, admitting it "wasn't my finest hour."

"I need to take this opportunity to publicly apologise again to those affected," she began.

After finishing the tearful interview, the 32-year-old took to her Instagram Stories to say she can "relax".

Speaking from the back of her car, she said: "The hair's flicked over guys. I can relax. I'm on my way back to Brentwood.

Ferne added: "Wow, what a lovely chat with Holly and Phil. I felt so at home on the This Morning sofa chatting with those guys.

"It felt like a really safe and welcoming place for me to share my story and to talk all things first-time mum."

An anonymous account had also claimed Ferne called Sam a "narcissistic b***h' while also making comments about ex Arthur's acid attack victim Sophie Hall.

During her chat with Holly and Phil, a clip from her series was shown, where she was seen talking to James Argent about the leak and how it affected her.

"It's really hard to watch," Ferne explained, "It's the nature of the beast with reality TV. Engagement and pregnancy, you celebrate along with the people who watch your show and it's great. With me, I do wear my heart on my sleeve.

"I am transparent with the viewers so when you go through something difficult, you can't just throw in the towel. It's warts and all."

Ferne then apologised for what she said - but vowed to reveal the "full truth" soon.

After apologising, she went on to say: "Obviously the words I used were unpleasant, but I have reached out privately to those people. It's very difficult - I'd love to sit here with you guys and with my followers and share exactly what went on, but it's now part of a criminal investigation."

She added: "I can't do that but what I can say is, these voice notes were from a time when I was in a very vulnerable situation and it was a very very difficult situation for me, five or six years ago. Since then, I've done a lot of work on myself."
