Ferne McCann reveals she's been in therapy for three years over personal struggles

Ferne McCann has revealed she has been having therapy for the last three years.

The former TOWIE star praised the sessions for 'saving her' as she faced a number of struggles in her personal life.

In 2017, Ferne's former boyfriend Arthur Collins was jailed for 20 after carrying out an acid attack in a London nightclub, leaving Ferne heartbroken for his victims, some of which have been scarred for life.

Following Arthur's sentencing, Ferne was left to raise their daughter Sunday, now three, singlehandedly.

Opening up about her weekly therapy sessions for the first time, Ferne, 30, told The Sun : "There's definitely been moments in my life where I have struggled. And I feel really grateful that I'm sat here in a position where I feel mentally strong.

"But this hasn't just happened overnight. This is something that I have worked on and put in place.

“I see a therapist, every week, and I have done that for the best part of three years. And I really want to highlight this because this is really important to me, because in the past I've never really spoken about it."

Ferne said there is no shame in seeking help and that in her eyes it's a 'really positive step.'

The star said that her sessions have equipped her with the tools to recover when she's feeling anxious or low and urged other people in a similar position to speak to a medical professional if they could.

Having starred on reality TV since joining TOWIE in 2013, Ferne admitted she'd developed a 'thick skin' but said some nasty comments from trolls still had the ability to cut deep.

The I'm A Celeb and First Time Mum star said the number of deaths in reality TV, mentioning Love Island's Sophie Gradon an Mike Thalassitis, was an 'absolute tragedy.'

Ferne also said she was heartbroken by the recent passing of Mick Norcross, who she had starred with on TOWIE.

"My thoughts and prayers and love and strength go out to Mick’s family. He was a true gentleman," she said.

Mick was found dead at his home in Essex at the age of 57 on Thursday. No cause of death has yet been given.
