As he continues to cause a stir on Love Island for a second time, Adam Collard's infamous 'drink throwing' clash with Ferne McCann has resurfaced, with the reality TV pair clashing at a past National Television Awards.

Months after he was at the centre of plenty of drama in the Love Island villa, Newcastle gym owner Adam attended the star-studded annual event alongside then girlfriend Zara McDermott, who he might while on the ITV show. However, their evening took a turn when Adam became embroiled in a row with former TOWIE and I'm A Celebrity star Ferne.

In reports made in the aftermath, The Sun claimed Adam told Ferne "You're a mum, stop bullying Zara," with their source alleging that Adam called Ferne a 'pathetic little sl**' after she threw drink in his face.

AS reported by ChronicleLive, Adam contacted police about the altercation, with a spokesperson for Met police said: "An allegation of common assault was made to police by a man, aged in his 20s, following an incident with a woman, also aged in her 20s, at the O2 Arena on Tuesday, 22 January.

"No one was injured during the the incident. There have been no arrests. Police enquiries continue."

Ferne addressed the accusations against her in a Twitter post days after the event, saying that she reacted after Adam made derogatory comments about her daughter Sunday. Giving her side of the story to fans, the First Time Mum star wrote: "To be clear I have not thrown glass at anyone. I am not proud of reacting the way I did to the serious abuse and intimidation I was subjected to and I should not have thrown a drink.

"However, I am not sure how someone who said the things he did about my daughter and me is seeking to portray himself as a victim.”
