Fernando Llorente offers Harry Kane injury update that is sure to excite Tottenham fans

Spurs striker Fernando Llorente has revealed that teammate and star striker Harry Kane is 'sure' that he will be fit in time to play in the Champions League final.

Kane has missed the last eight Spurs games in all competitions after again damaging his ankle ligaments in the first leg of the quarter-final against Manchester City.

The striker gave an update after Tottenham's semi-final victory over Ajax and was hopeful that he would be able to make a return for the final game of the season.

His post-match celebrations (running across the pitch to celebrate with teammates) proved to fans that the player is on the road to recovery.

"Hopefully. Rehab is going well so far. I start straight line running this week. That's why I was okay to straight line run today (during celebrations). I didn't want to cut any corners," he told BT Sport.

"We'll just see how it goes. So far so good. If it carries on like it should, I would hope to be. There are still a few weeks to go."

Now, Llorente seems to have backed up that claim, saying that his teammate is confident of a return to match action sooner rather than later.

“Harry Kane? He’s sure he’s recovering for the final, he’s sure,” the Spaniard told Cadena Ser.

Kane has just over three weeks to recover if he want to play in the final. Tottenham take on Liverpool on June 1st at Atletico Madrid's Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.
