Fermanagh & Omagh District Council offering free shuttle buses to Gortin Glen Forest Park this summer

Fermanagh & Omagh District Council have announced a series of free shuttle buses to Gortin Glen Forest Park just in time for the good weather.

Families and friends can now enjoy a day out at the forest park without worrying about bringing the car and finding a parking spot.

In partnership with Translink, the Council are running a free shuttle bus service for four Sundays, on July 18, July 25, August 1, and August 8.

The buses will operate to and from Omagh Bus Centre at the following times on each date:

Depart Omagh Bus Centre

9.30 am, 10.15 am, 11.00 am, 2.25 pm, 3.10 pm, 3.55 pm, 4.40pm.

Depart Gortin Glens

9.50 am, 10.35 am, 11.20 am, 2.45 pm, 3.30 pm, 4.15 pm, 5.00 pm.

There are plenty of things to do at Gortin Glen Forest Park, as the site was recently named as Northern Ireland's joint-favourite mountain biking trail.

It picked up the Favourite Mountain Bike Trail Centre in NI award at the 2020 MountainBike NI awards, alongside Castlewellan Forest Park in Co Down, following a public vote.

The development of 13km of mountain bike trails is just one part of the £2 million investment programme at Gortin Glen Forest Park with Fermanagh and Omagh District Council and the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs each committing £1,000,000 to the project.
