Barry Ferguson has insisted he always intended to bring Jack Butland back into the Rangers starting XI.
The goalkeeper has been reinstated to the No. 1 role for the Scottish Premiership tie against Dundee United this evening.
Ferguson had dropped Butland after a series of errors with Liam Kelly coming into the side.

However, Butland is back in between the posts this evening with Ferguson hoping for a performance to show his qualities.
Ferguson also revealed Kelly has been struggling with a back issue but insisted that was not the reason for the change in goal tonight.

Ferguson told Rangers TV: "Jack comes back in. It was always my intention to bring Jack back in at some stage.
"Kells has been brilliant, I've been really happy with him.
"To be fair to him, he has been struggling with a back injury, it has been niggling away at him.
"That is not the reason that Jack has come in, as I said it was always my intention.
"One thing about Jack is, his attitude has been first class, I still rate him very highly.
"Hopefully, he will go and show how good a goalkeeper he is."
