Ferencvaros boss in Celtic battle cry as he calls for players to keep Europa League dream alive

Ferencvaros boss Peter Stoger has called for his side to show their best in the do-or-die Europa League clash with Celtic.

Ange Postecoglou 's men kept their own bid for the knockout stage of the competition alive with a 2-0 win over the Hungarian champions at Parkhead.

For Ferencvaros, the meeting on Thursday offers their last chance to make a bid of the last 32, and a second consecutive defeat would even put the Europa Conference League spot out of reach.

Since the defeat in Glasgow's east end, Stoger's side have kept three clean sheets and remain a point off the top of the table, having played a game less than leaders Kisvarda.

Following the 2-0 win over Gyirmot, the manager claimed that his side had turned a corner, and urged them to keep it going against Celtic.

Stoger told Nemzeti Sport : “This victory was very important for self-confidence. In this case, the team’s mood in the training is different, we can play more freely.

"We know that the meeting against Celtic is the last chance to play European matches in the spring as well.

“It took the team’s confidence. It wasn’t an easy match because the opponent analysed our recent encounters well.

"They defended deeply, and that defence was not easy for us to breakthrough.

"Our possession of the ball was good in the first half, but we could have created more situations.

“I asked for more of that in the second half. I also wanted to see more situations, more passes from the edges and our full-backs. Overall, I am happy to win.”
