The future of Mesut Ozil seems to make headlines during every transfer window.
The German playmaker struggled to tie down a regular place in Unai Emery's first team last season, with the Arsenal boss leaving him out on a number of separate occasions.
Ozil was left out of one game with Bournemouth because Emery did not believe he had the "physicality" for the contest, while he missed the north London derby in the Carabao Cup for "tactical reasons".
Emery has a limited transfer budget to work with this summer, and offloading players is seen as a way of boosting the meagre £45million he has to spend.
And Ozil was tipped as one of those that could leave this summer.
A loan move to Fenerbahce has been strongly mooted, which would not bring in sale money, but would free up a huge sum on the wage bill.
Ozil is of Turkish descent and a move to Turkey was seen as good for all parties, with Arsenal happy to let him go.

However, Ozil will not be going to Fenerbahce.
The Turkish club have felt it necessary, given the speculation, to publish a statement on the Ozil rumours.
The statement read: "In recent weeks and especially in the last few days, the necessity of providing information about the claims of Mesut Ozil, which is on the agenda, to clarify the situation has arisen.
"Mesut Ozil, with his career and standing, successfully represents our country abroad. He is an important value known with the identity of Fenerbahce.
"However, Fenerbahce does not have a proposal for Mesut Ozil. Under the current economic conditions, such a step is not possible for both parties."
