Fenerbahce 'closing in' on deal for Manchester United defender and more transfer rumours

Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo could seal a loan move to the Turkish Super Lig in the coming days, if reports are to be believed.

According to Turkish media outlet A Spor , Fenerbahce are "closing in" on a loan deal for Rojo, who almost moved to Everton on deadline day only for the move to fall through.

United are willing to allow Rojo to leave the club before the window for Turkish clubs — and many other sides around Europe — shuts on September 2.

Despite that, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said he will continue to consider Rojo for selection.

The Norwegian has seven centre-backs in his squad after signing Harry Maguire.

"Yes, definitely. Why shouldn't I?"

"He’s had a very good pre-season. I think he’s getting closer and closer to the Argentinian setup as well, so let’s see what the future will bring."

But the report in Turkish media claims Fenerbahce sporting director Damien Comolli has reached an agreement with United over a loan move.

Elsewhere, United are reportedly battling Liverpool over the signing of talented Belgian youngster Jean-Pierre Longonda.

Foot Mercato claim that the Premier League rivals scouted the defensive midfielder last season and could make a move.

Chelsea and Schalke have also been linked with the 17-year-old Lille youngster.
