A female prison officer was attacked by an inmate in a Dublin prison after trying to break up a fight.
The incident happened in Cloverhill on Tuesday morning with the woman, 20s, requiring hospital treatment after the assault.
Dublin Live understands a fight broke out among inmates with the woman being hurt while breaking it up.
A spokesperson for the prison service confirmed the incident saying gardai are now investigating.

They said: "The Prison Service can confirm an assault on an officer in Cloverhill Prison on the 07/05/2019 and this incident has been referred to An Garda Síochána.
"The Irish Prison Service is also carrying out an internal investigation."
