Female dog walker punched and kicked by two men as one thug left with leg injury

A female dog walker was knocked to the ground and kicked and punched by two men in a horrifying unprovoked attack.

The woman was attacked by two thugs beside garages in Slade Gardens, Kirriemuir, Angus sometime between 8.30pm and 9pm on Tuesday December 28.

Tayside Division officers say she was not injured during the terrifying assault, which took place as she was walking her dog, but was left badly shaken. Investigators believe the attack was entirely unprovoked.

After making "extensive" enquiries in the local area, police have launched a wider appeal in a bid to trace two men in connection with the assault.

One of the alleged assailants is described as wearing a black puffa-style jacket, black gloves, jeans and black trainers. He is also said to have had a "noticeably deep voice".

A description of the other alleged attacker has not been released.

However, one of the men may have sustained a lower leg injury during the incident - something police are keen to highlight in seeking to identify the perpetrators.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Extensive enquiries have already been made in the area.

"If you have any information that could assist us, please call 101 or speak to any police officer.

"Also, information can be given 100% anonymously through CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111.

"Our reference is incident 2991 of 28th December."
