Female Boundary Mills worker kicked and hit by shoplifter in Shiremoor

Police have released a CCTV image of a woman they wish to speak to after a department store worker was assaulted by a shoplifter in North Tyneside.

Police were called to the Boundary Mills store, in Shiremoor, to reports that a woman had been stealing and acting aggressively with staff.

It was then said that a woman had kicked and hit a female employee after being confronted by security staff about her shoplifting.

The victim sustained minor injuries and an investigation was launched into the incident, which happened at around 5:30pm on Wednesday August 5.

Officers have now released a CCTV image of a woman who was in the store at the time of the offence and could have information that can assist the investigation.

The female had long brown hair and was wearing a white and blue long dress with sunglasses on her head at the time of the incident.

Police want to speak to this woman after a theft and assault at Boundary Mills store in Shiremoor (Northumbria Police)
