A young man has been shot dead at a block of flats in south-west London, the sixth person murdered in the capital in just over a week.

A teenager is also fighting for life after being stabbed in north London after another night of violence.

Emergency services, including armed police and an air ambulance, rushed to the scene of the shooting in Feltham shortly after 11pm on Friday.

Paramedics battled to save the victim, who was believed to be aged in his 20s, but he died at the scene.

No arrests have been made, Scotland Yard said.

A spokesman said officers were called to Exeter House in Watermill Way at 11.08pm. He added that the victim's next of kin had been informed.

He said: "A post-mortem examination will be held in due course. Formal identification awaits.

"A crime scene remains at the location. There are no other reported injuries."

Just over half an hour earlier, a 17-year-old boy was stabbed in the street in Goswell Road, Islington.

He was rushed to hospital where he remains in a critical condition. Police said no arrests have been made.

It comes amid a spate of killings in London that saw four people stabbed and another shot dead in the space of six days.

The victims include two teenagers attacked within minutes last Friday - Cheyon Evans, 18, who was knifed to death in Wandsworth, and Eniola Aluko, 19, found shot in Plumstead.

David Bello-Monerville, 38, was also stabbed to death in Barnet. He is the third brother from the same family to be murdered on London's streets.
